Center-invest Bank becomes Signatory of the global Principles for Responsible Banking

Center-invest Bank has become an official Signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking — a single framework for a sustainable banking industry developed through an innovative partnership between banks worldwide and United Nations Environment’s Finance Initiative.

The Principles for Responsible Banking set out the banking industry’s role and responsibility in shaping a sustainable future and in aligning the banking sector with the objectives of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. They also, importantly, enable a bank to embed sustainability across all its business areas, and to identity where it has the potential to make the most impact in its contributions to a sustainable world. They also position a bank to leverage new business opportunities with the emergence of the sustainable development economy.

Center-invest Bank is a positive example of a socially responsible business based on an ESG-banking business model. Center-invest Bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities aim to bring about positive changes in society and are for the benefit of present and future generations. All of Center-invest Bank’s CSR projects reflect the responsible attitude to the social development of the regions in which it operates, the protection of natural resources, and the improvement of the financial literacy of the general population and the new entrepreneurs who represent the future of the Russian economy.

Prof. Dr. Vasiliy Vysokov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board said: We are very proud to commit to the UNEP FI Principles for Responsible Banking. Our membership in UNEP FI will give an access to the best world practice of conducting ESG banking, implementing transparent procedures for smart growth of ethical business. It will help to exchange experience in lending to the real economy, implementing social and educational projects in order to increase financial literacy of population and entrepreneurs. We are going to continue promoting ESG business model in Russia among our customers, partners, local communities and authorities, while also strengthen our business performance and performance of the region as well."
